Come Hike with Us: The Swannanoa Valley Museum sponsors a wide variety of hikes to high, hidden and historic places, with interpretation of the sites by local historians and naturalists.

NEW

In 2010, the Museum is introducing a special series of hikes, the Swannanoa Rim Explorer. (tm) The Swannanoa Rim encompasses the ridgelines of the upper Swannanoa Valley that surround Black Mountain. This exclusive program will offer experienced hikers the opportunity to explore remote and little traveled territory while learning much about the history, geography, hydrology, and environment of the Swannanoa Valley.

Daycations: These monthly excursions are designed for people who are eager to discover the many natural and heritage treasures in Western North Carolina, but who prefer not to hike to them. Ten exciting destinations are on the 2010 calendar.
